Line rushes from Thursday’s morning skate at the Consol Energy Center:
Pearson – Carter – Toffoli
King – Richards – Brown
Clifford – Stoll – Williams
Van der Gulik – Andreoff – Nolan
Kopitar-Lewis
Muzzin – Doughty
Regehr – Martinez
McNabb – Greene
Jones
Quick
Notes:
-Martin Jones left the ice first at the morning skate, so he’ll be expected to start against the Penguins. The Kings have a back-to-back that continues Friday in Detroit, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Quick get the nod tomorrow.
-Anze Kopitar, Trevor Lewis and Marian Gaborik remained on the ice for extra work against Jonathan Quick. While Kopitar and Lewis took part as extras in line rushes, Gaborik was confined to the neutral zone and did not participate. None of the three are expected to play tonight.
-Marc-Andre Fleury is expected to draw the start for Pittsburgh tonight. Because former L.A. farmhand Jeff Zatkoff started both Kings-Penguins games last year, this will be the first time the Kings have faced Fleury since a 3-2 Pittsburgh shootout win at Staples Center on November 5, 2011.
-Kings Live begins at 3:30 p.m. on Fox Sports West. Jarret Stoll will be my pre-game interview from the Kings’ bench.
