October 26 postgame notes

-With the win, Los Angeles improved to 28-18-4 all-time against the Blue Jackets, a record that includes a home mark of 17-8-1.

-The Kings have gone 6-0-0 for the first time in team history on a six-game homestand. The previous best was 5-0-1 during the 1990-91 season.

-The Kings are currently on a six-game winning streak (all games at home), Oct. 12-26. Their longest home winning streak since a seven-game streak, Apr. 4-27, 2013 (7-0-0). Los Angeles is also on a seven-game point streak (6-0-1)

-With their sixth win of the season, the Kings have tied the most wins through their first eight games in team history (fifth time; also 2010-11, 6-2-0; 2005-06, 6-2-0; 1990-91, 6-1-1; 1980-81, 6-1-1). It also ties the most points (13) through their first eight games in team history (third time; also 1990-91; 6-1-1, 1980-81; 6-1-1).

-This is the third consecutive game the Kings have scored at least one power play goal. The last time they have scored at least one power play goal in at least three consecutive games was Mar. 13-17, 2014.

-Prior to Columbus’ power play goal in the first period, the Kings had killed off 18 consecutive penalties spanning across six games from Oct. 12-26.

-Jeff Carter’s power play goal (1-3=4) marked the third consecutive game he and Tyler Toffoli (1-3=4) have gotten points. It is the second time in the first eight games they have had a three-game point streak. Carter has scored seven points (2-5=7) during his current streak, and 12 points (5-7=12) in his last seven games. Toffoli also has seven points (2-5=7) on his three-game streak, and 12 points (4-8=12) in his last seven games. This was the fourth multi-point game for both players this season (tied for the team lead).

-Carter’s three points (1-2=3) in the second period are the most by a Kings player in a single period this season.

-Tanner Pearson scored his team-leading sixth and seventh goals of the season (2-0=2). He also leads all NHL rookies in goals.

-The line of Carter, Pearson and Toffoli tallied 10 points (4-6=10) tonight. In the last seven games, they have combined for 33 points (16-17=33) and a plus-32 rating, having been even-or-better in every game this season.

-Jonathan Quick has allowed four goals in his last five games (0.69 GAA) and stopped 165-of-169 shots (.976 SV%). He has also won five consecutive games.

-Matt Greene played in his 361st game as a King tonight, tying him with Garry Galley for 14th overall on the Kings all-time defensemen games played list.

-Tonight’s attendance was 18,230, a sellout. This marks the 97th consecutive regular-season sellout, and the 127th overall (including playoffs); both are club records.

The Kings are not scheduled to practice on Monday, October 27th. The team will be flying to Philadelphia to start a five-game road trip.
