On Jake Muzzin claiming to be getting closer:
He’ll be cleared by a doctor, not by a coach or himself.
On opening a six-game homestand:
I think we took a step last night. We’ll focus on tonight’s game and go from there.
On familiarity with the Winnipeg Jets, who didn’t make major personnel moves:
Yeah, I don’t think they made any significant changes, quite honest. Health, they were really banged up, if you look at it last year…After Paul took over, I think they changed their style quite a bit. They play to their strengths. I think that Little and Scheifele are two underrated top centermen, and they probably fly under that same radar that Kopi used to where he was appreciated by who he played against but not from the outside, and those two guys both play big, big parts of their team, and they have big strong wingers, which both of those guys use, and then with Trouba and the three defensemen – especially Bogosian, Trouba and Stuart – as big guys who play a real mobile game, and Enstrom that’s sort of the distributor. So it’s a real solid team, I think.
On whether he knows goaltender Michael Hutchinson that well:
We’ve seen him before. Billy will have a good book on him. I’ve seen him playing against Manch on video more than anything. [Reporter: Do you think that’s who they’ll go with?] I don’t know. I mean, we don’t know. We didn’t know until yesterday afternoon that Dubnyk was playing. We don’t know.
On Brayden McNabb providing a physical element on Saturday night:
He has to. It’s part of his M.O. I mean, it’s not like it’s something that he’s learning to be physical. I mean, as a junior player and as an American League player, that’s part of his M.O., so you have to do that. I mean, you have to have an identity and you have to play within your personality, and quite honest, with Muzz out of the lineup, Muzz and Drew are our most physical defensemen, so Brayden has to bring some of that.
