Chicago coach Joel Quenneville just addressed the media and said that defenseman Brent Seabrook will not play tonight, although Quenneville declined to say whether Seabrook has a concussion, calling it an “upper-body injury.”
Seabrook had to leave Wednesday’s game in the second period after a big hit from Anaheim’s James Wisniewski, who got an eight-game suspension. That led to some, um, interesting comments from Ducks GM Bob Murray, who today a conference call said, “I played in Chicago a long time. … It used to be a black-and-blue town. It didn’t have whiners” and “I strongly suggest Joel worries about his goaltending and stops trying to run the NHL.”
Asked about those comments a couple minutes ago, a clearly steamed Quenneville said, “I did hear about it, and it doesn’t deserve a comment.”
