On not “bearing down” and the challenge in finishing chances:
Yeah, you’ve got to finish your chances. You can’t win every game 1-0, 2-1, shootout. We certainly had enough chances to win the game tonight. We didn’t do it. The onus is on us to put the puck in the back of the net.
On the level of frustration after outplaying another opponent in a loss:
You really can’t dwell on anything. You can’t win every game. What you can control is the effort you put out. We just got on the wrong side of the scoreboard tonight on a couple plays. Not bearing down on our chances, too, certainly allowed them to score those two goals late.
On whether the team is happy with the effort being put in:
Never happy totally until you win. You’re really not. You always look back and reflect after a game on what you could have done differently and try and do that better next time. [Reporter: Is there anything that sticks out to you that you could have done differently tonight?] Well, I could have scored on a couple shots.
On whether too much time was spent on the perimeter and without generating traffic:
Well, anyone can look at that and say, ‘If you don’t score a goal, you’re not getting traffic, you’re not getting shots, you’re not getting rebounds. We were there tonight. I thought we had multiple chances to score on second chances and rush opportunities, and it didn’t happen.
On Detroit’s performance:
Well, they hung around and scored a late goal and then trapped it up pretty good. We couldn’t get anything by them. But you’ll have to ask them [how] their road record and home record differs.
