On whether him and Jordan Nolan scoring goals calls reminds him of 2012:
It’s funny you say that. Obviously we’d have liked to be a little more productive last year. I think the full summer off, for sure myself, helped to get refocused and coming in prepared for a normal season. It’s great to see. Obviously it can’t always be the top guys scoring goals, so it’s nice for us to step up.
On what the team did well defensively in the third period:
Just cleaning up with the puck. Most of their chances were just unforced errors by us. They’re a good transition team, so we knew if we held on to the puck in their zone, we’d eliminate their opportunities.
On where he was for the Drew Doughty’s hit on Marc Arcobello:
He hit the guy right in front of me. It looked like he was a little winded after it, but it’s nice to see him playing physical like that.
On Doughty’s level of play:
This is right up there with his the hockey he’s been playing in the playoffs…We played against some elite defensemen just on the last road trip, and to see where he measures up against those guys, it’s exciting for him and our team.
On Doughty’s play to set up his goal:
He’s just a special player. Obviously he made a play coming off the wall, and he drew a lot of defenders. He managed to keep his head up while he’s making his moves, and I was just fortunate enough to find some quiet ice on the side.
