As noted a couple days ago, top junior prospect Tyler Toffoli and a group of 10 AHL players are set to join the Kings as a “taxi squad.’’ Toffoli’s Ottawa 67s, along with the AHL’s Manchester Monarchs, were eliminated from their respective playoffs on Friday, which allowed the Kings to bring aboard a group of prospects. It’s a chance for the prospects to be involved in an NHL playoff environment and get in some practice time. For most, it’s doubtful that they will see any game action, but in recent weeks the Kings had been discussing the possibility of playing Toffoli. Here’s the list of the AHL players expected to come aboard once the Kings return to Los Angeles (the players might not practice until Wednesday):
FORWARDS: Andy Andreoff, Justin Azevedo, Marc-Andre Cliche, Rich Clune and Linden Vey.
DEFENSMEN: Andrew Campbell, Thomas Hickey, Patrick Mullen and Jake Muzzin.
GOALIE: Martin Jones.
