Scuderi postgame quotes (April 7)

Rob Scuderi’s postgame thoughts…

(on getting the eighth seed…)
SCUDERI: “From where we were, about a month and a half ago, I think we’re just happy to be in the playoffs. Not to say we’re not upset about the last couple games, giving up leads, but there’s a second season and we have to get ready.’’

(on the third-period penalties…)
SCUDERI: “Certainly that’s something we would like to clean up before the playoffs start. Guys are just trying to play hard. Sometimes it’s a fine line there. You’re trying to do the right thing. You’re trying to be physical and you’re trying to play the game the right way, and sometimes penalties happen. But certainly we’d like to clean it up and not take so many.’’

(on losing the third-period lead…)

SCUDERI: “I think they just capitalized on mistakes. I can think of the 4-on-4 goal, when we had two guys caught on one side. They have good players. They capitalized. They made a play to the middle. Their guys go to open space when there’s an opportunity. The power-play goal, I don’t know if it touched our stick or their stick, but it was a pretty far tip and it just kind of lofted in. As much as you don’t want to chalk up goals to a bad bounce, sometimes it happens. That was a bad bounce, and the overtime one, I was on the ice and I tried to get a stick on it. Boyle shot it, and I don’t know exactly where it went but I’m sure I changed the direction of the puck. That’s tough for a goalie. Overall, they’re a good team. They might have struggled for parts of the season, but they’re a good team. They kind of dusted themselves off in the last 10, 15 games here, and I think they will be a tough matchup for someone, as well, in the playoffs.’’
