Dustin Penner’s postgame thoughts…
(on trying to score late…)
PENNER: “Obviously it wasn’t too late if we got a goal. Their goaltender played really well. We’ve just got to bury our opportunities, especially on the power play.’’
(on his goalie-interference penalty…)
PENNER: “I think the word they use to describe that is `chintzy,’ considering the time and that he was already knocked over by his own guy, and then his guy cross-checked me into him. I know a little bit better than that, than to go into a goalie with three minutes left.’’
(on Kyle Clifford’s penalty…)
PENNER: “[sighs] That’s another call that… Too bad there isn’t a video review for that, or maybe supplemental discipline.’’
(on the tight playoff race…)
PENNER: “It makes every game mean that much more. We have less room for error. We have three more games on the this road trip, and then three more. A clean sweep of those six would feel pretty good.’’
(on how he would grade the Kings’ game…)
PENNER: “I’d say `B.’ I wouldn’t say it’s our `A’ game. Our `A’ game is when we score three or four goal and our power play is clicking. It needs to be better at this time of year, especially in the position that we’re in.’’
