Justin Williams’ postgame thoughts…
(on holding the third-period lead….)
WILLIAMS: “When we’re on the bench, not a lot of people from the outside can feel it, but there was a calm on the bench, even when they scored to make it 3-2 and got a late power play. Hiller made a great glove save on Carter. Those things together, they didn’t seem to faze our bench. We just kept plugging along and knew that we were going to close it out.’’
(on getting offensive contributions from the defensemen…)
WILLIAMS: “I think it has to do with turnovers in our neutral zone as well. We’re creating a lot off our neutral zone (play). Our defensemen are standing up, they’re getting more involved in the offense. It doesn’t matter who you are, if you’re Drew Doughty or Matt Greene, it doesn’t matter. If you get involved, you’re going to get opportunities, and they’ve been getting a lot of shots to the net.’’
