Some notes from last night’s game…

— The Kings matched their season high in goals as they beat the Washington Capitals 5-2 on Monday night at Staples Center.

— The Kings improved to 11-0-0 this season when they score at least three goals in a game. The Kings improved to 17-4-5 when they allow fewer than three goals in a game.

— The Kings reached the five-goal mark for the fifth time this season, as they got goals from five different players. The Kings got at least one point from 11 different players.

— The Kings improved to 6-1-3 under coach Darryl Sutter and have recorded at least one point in 10 of their last 11 games (7-1-3).

— The Kings have allowed a total of seven goals in their last seven games.

— The Kings have won the last five meetings against the Capitals.

— The Kings improved to 12-9-2 at Staples Center, 7-13-3 when allowing the first goal, 6-0-0 when leading after the first period and 13-0-2 when leading after the second period.

— The Kings outshot the Capitals 35-22, including 14-8 in the second period.

— The Kings went 1-for-3 on the power play and 3-for-3 on the penalty kill. The Kings had scored one power-play goal in their previous seven games. The Kings are 14-5-1 this season when they score at least one power-play goal. The Kings have now killed 37 consecutive penalies — the franchise record is 46 — and have killed 84 of their last 87 penalties.

— Jonathan Bernier stopped 20 of 22 shots. Bernier has allowed two or fewer goals in each of his last five starts. The Kings had scored a total of 11 goals in Bernier’s first seven starts this season.

— Kyle Clifford had one goal and one assist, for his second goal and fifth assist of the season. It was the first mutli-point game of Clifford’s career (he had two multi-point games during the playoffs last season). Clifford had gone 36 consecutive games without a goal.

— Jack Johnson had one goal and one assist (on the power play), for his sixth goal and 11th assist of the season. Johnson recorded his fourth game-winning goal of the season and surpassed his goal total from last season (five). Johnson has one goal and three assists in his last five games.

— Justin Williams had one goal, on the power play, his seventh goal and 25th point of the season. It was Williams’ third power-play goal of the season.

— Anze Kopitar had one goal, his 12th goal and team-high 37th point of the season. Kopitar has six goals and three assists in six career games against the Capitals. The Kings are 83-33-12 all-time in games when Kopitar scores a goal.

— Jarret Stoll had one goal, his fifth goal and 13th point of the season.

— Trent Hunter had two assists, to push his season totals to five assists and seven points. It was Hunter’s first multi-point game since Nov. 24, 2010, with the New York Islanders.

— Drew Doughty had one assist, on the power play, his 14th assist and 17th point of the season. Seven of Doughty’s 14 assists have come on the power play.

— Dustin Brown had one assist, his 12th assist and 22nd point of the season.

— Dustin Penner had one assist, his seventh assist and ninth point of the season.

— Willie Mitchell had one assist, his sixth assist and eighth point of the season.

— Mike Richards had one assist, his 11th assist and 24th point of the season.

— Jarret Stoll recorded a game-high five shots on goal. Dustin Brown was credited with a team-high five hits. Jack Johnson and Trevor Lewis each were credited with a team-high two blocked shots.

— Drew Doughty led the Kings in ice time, at 26 minutes, 12 seconds, followed by Rob Scuderi, at 21:51. Anze Kopitar led all Kings forwards in ice time, at 18:54, followed by Dustin Brown, at 18:53.

— The Kings won 43 of 83 faceoffs (52 percent). Anze Kopitar won 12 of 23 draws (52 percent). Jarret Stoll won 9 of 17 draws (53 percent). Mike Richards won 10 of 16 draws (63 percent).
