Depending on Drew Doughty’s status for tonight, Slava Voynov might have played his last NHL game for a while. When Doughty returns from injured reserve, the Kings will need to make a roster move in order to create space for him. Called up when Doughty went on injured reserve, Voynov has played in four games and hasn’t recorded a point but has a plus-1 rating while averaging more than 20 minutes of ice time per game. He also seems to have earned the confidence of Terry Murray…
MURRAY: “I think Slava has played very well. His game has gotten better, as he has gone through his first opportunity to play in the NHL. His game (against New Jersey) was good. He showed a lot of confidence. He was matched up against their best line, often, and handled it very well. His composure with the puck, to make plays when there is a lot of pressure on him, is very good. Overall, my confidence in him is very high.’’
