SOG: LAK – 26 FLA – 14
PP: LAK – 0/3 FLA – 2/2

Third Period
20:00 – Ate a piece of pizza at the intermission. Feeling re-energized. Third period is underway in Quebec City!
13:18 – By far the most comfortable the top power-play unit has looked over these two games. Fiala had a blast stepping in from the left side of the umbrella but he just missed the net. Puck movement, tempo, player movement was all better. Good sign.
12:14 – LAK Goal – Trevor Moore cashes in from the slot after a ridiculous set of moves from Quinton Byfield. Just continues to impress as he makes space out of nothing and feeds Moore, who got himself to a dangerous area and cashes in. 3-2 game.
8:39 – That is goaltender interference. Boqvist rams through Kuemper after making a nice move around Gavrikov. Kings back to the PP. Would like to see the top unit build off their last look.
6:39 – Not quite the same output on the PP. Second unit started, moved it around okay, but nothing too dangerous. Kings still trailing 3-2.

Second Period
20:00 – Second Period is a go, Kings trailing 2-1 as we get back underway.
16:13 – Great look off the rush. Clarke drives the center lane and kicks it to his right to Turcotte, who has a lot of space. Bobrovsky challenges and gets a shoulder on it. Good play from the young fellas.
15:55 – Kings to the power play. Verhaeghe to the box.
13:55 – Second unit with the better of the chances on that sequence. Dangerous looks for Byfield and Moore, with 55 the facilitator throughout that unit’s time on the ice.
9:02 – Kings looking like the better side through 30 minutes at 5-on-5. But it’s 2-1, thanks to the two PPG’s against. Some encouraging stuff. Some flawed execution as well. Such is life in the preseason and probably will be at times early in the regular season. Hope to see a couple things cleaned up and improved as we go.
5:14 – Nice shift here from the Lee/Turcotte/Lewis line, hemming in the Barkov line for a shift in the offensive zone. Intensity has been lower tonight. two teams perhaps with eyes on Game 1 of the regular season.
0:45 – FLA Goal – Looks like Gadjovich with a deflection on what seemed like kind of a harmless shot from the outside. Deflection will change that. 3-1 Panthers, late second period.
0:00 – 3-1 Florida after 40 minutes. One more period left in the preseason.

First Period
20:00 – Kings and Panthers are underway!
13:53 – LAK Goal – Phil Danault! In Quebec City! Story writes itself. Danault gets to the slot and gets a deflection on the shot from the point by Vladislav Gavirko to put it past Florida netminder Sergei Bobrovsky. 1-0.
11:04 – Kings take the game’s first penalty. Anze Kopitar the culprit. There goes the Lady Byng. First Kings PK of the evening.
10:53 – FLA Goal – Barkov ties the game at one. Sick goal, but the Kings were beat with a string of passes. Full credit to the Florida captain on the finish as he got to the net and deked in tight to the backhand for the goal. 1-1
8:00 – Not a lot of……action. Shots on goal are 4-2 Kings as we approach the final media timeout of the opening period.
5:45 – Second Kings penalty of the night. Gavrikov sits and the Panthers will return to the man advantage.
4:31 – Chances at both ends. Adrian Kempe just can’t hook the puck into the net, after he had Bobrovsky beat on the backhand while shorthanded. Kuemper then makes his best save of the game,
3:57 – FLA Goal – Panthers make it 2-1. Second PPG of the evening. Ekblad’s shot misses the net and deflects off the endboards, with Lundell batting it out of the air for a 2-1 lead.
1:04 – Sneaky sneaky, Brandt Clarke. Dances his man moving in from the right point, but his shot misses the net as he walks it in. nifty hands from 92. He’s got the skill, that’s for sure.
0:00 – Kings trail 2-1 after one. 9-5 lead in SOG. Kopitar had a good look towards the end of the frame. 2 PPG against the decider in the opening 20 minutes.
