Third Period
20:00 – 20 minutes to play at T-Mobile Arena!
17:40 – Vegas forward Mason Morelli found himself open for a look directly in front of Berube and the netminder stood tall for the Kings, shutting down the early chance.
13:46 – Sheldon Rempal, a former forward in the Kings organization who is now with Vegas, was called for roughing after a whistle which gives LA the first power play of the third period.
13:26 – Seconds into the power play, Brandt Clarke fell over while trying to keep a puck in the offensive zone and tripped up Jonas Rondbjerg, negating a potential breakaway. Rondbjerg was awarded a penalty shot, which was stopped by Berube who stayed patient and made a right pad save.
12:05 – Charles Hudon is sent to the penalty box for hooking, ending LA’s power play with 19 seconds remaining. After a short 4-on-4, Vegas will have its third man-advantage of the game.
8:16 – LAK Goal – Akil Thomas was in the right place at the right time, collecting a rebound and burying his second goal of the night to make it a 3-2 game.

Second Period
20:00 – We’re back for period 2!
19:11 – Mikhail Maltsev is looking up to the rafters after two great looks at the Vegas net were kept out by Adin Hill. Maltsev has a team-high three shots so far tonight.
17:00 – Vegas picks up their second power play opportunity of the game after a penalty to Pinelli for tripping.
13:57 – LA gets the kill, doing a nice job to take away lanes from the Golden Knights during the man-advantage. After Pinelli escaped the box, he was able to set up a chance in front that eventually led to a look on net for Samuel Helenius as well.
12:46 – Hayden Hodgson lined up Mark Stone with a hard body check along the boards that irked the Golden Knights. What ensued, was a total of five penalties for roughing after the play was whistled dead, including a game misconduct to Kevin Connauton.
4:00 – LAK Goal – The Real Deal Returns! Akil Thomas gets on the board in his first game action since an injury in November, using a quick release to beat Adin Hill over the blocker and put the Kings back within a goal.
2:32 – VGK Goal – A nice move down low by defender Ben Hutton gives the Golden Knights a two-goal lead once again at 3-1.
0:00 – Both teams found the back of the net late in the period after things boiled over earlier in the frame. The Kings held an 8-6 edge in shots on goal during the second.

First Period
20:00 – The Kings and Golden Knights are underway in Vegas!
19:21 – In the opening minute, Brett Howden clipped Brandt Clarke up high as he was leaving his own zone. Howden goes off for high sticking and the Kings head to the power play!
17:10 – LA was unsuccessful on the opening man-advantage chance, which included three shot attempts by Mikhail Maltsev from the low slot.
15:20 – Berube has passed his toughest test of the early moments, denying an open look from within 10 feet of the net by Maxime Comtois.
12:33 – VGK Goal – After a 2-on-1 chance for the Kings was broken up, Vegas cashed in on the other end with Brendan Brisson wristing the puck past the glove of Berube to put the Golden Knights ahead 1-0.
9:53 – The Kings have their second power play of the period, with VGK defender Lukas Cormier taking a minor penalty for slashing.
6:20 – Despite a man-advantage without much traffic in the Vegas end, the Kings have been able to keep consistent pressure away from their net. A recent 3-on-1 look for LA also fell short of creating a chance, with Laferriere fanning on a shot before Hudon missed the net with a hurried wrister.
4:44 – The Kings are shorthanded for the first time today after a tripping call to Hayden Hodgson gives the Golden Knights a power play.
4:11 – VGK Goal – It took only 30 seconds for Vegas to find Jonathan Marchessault open on the back door for a one-time snapshot into an open net. 2-0 Golden Knights.
0:00 – Despite the run of play being close to even, Vegas capitalized on two open looks and hold a two-goal lead after 20 minutes.
