The Ontario Reign have announced the first step towards the 2019-20 home schedule, with the release of their six guaranteed home dates.
The Reign will be home on the following six dates next season:
Friday, October 11
Saturday, November 2
Saturday, December 14
Friday, January 10
Saturday, January 18
Saturday, February 8
The Guaranteed Dates are the first domino to fall in the AHL’s schedule release. Whereas the NHL will release their schedule all in one rip, the AHL provides a set of six guaranteed dates to each team, to announce at their discretion during the lead up to the full release, which can be expected in early-July. For reference, last season’s schedule was released in full on July 11, with each team releasing their home openers the day prior.
Opponents and times for these games will be announced with the full schedule.
The Reign have also attached promotions to each of their first six dates, including some of the most popular nights from the 2018-19 season. First, $2 beers are back on Friday Night home games, including October 11 and January 10.
The team will also run the following promotions:
November 2 – Hockey Fights Cancer
December 14 – Teddy Bear Toss
January 18 – Wild West Night
February 8 – Pink In The Rink
These should be four of the top attended games of the season. These four promotions averaged 9,494 fans, more than 1,000 fans, per game, higher than the team’s overall average of 8,352 fans per game on the season in total. At 9,725 fans, Teddy Bear Toss was the largest crowd of the season, followed by Wild West Night (2nd), Hockey Fights Cancer (3rd) and Pink (5th).
Expect more information & content from the team over the next few weeks regarding these promotions for next season. Fans can click here to request ticket info on any of the upcoming guaranteed dates.
Lastly, the Reign will hold their annual Open House on Sunday, June 2. ALL-IN members will get their own selected times, but the event is open to the public from noon to 2 PM at Citizens Business Bank Arena. The event will include the team’s equipment sale, plus locker room tours and the chance to select a season seat for the 2019-20 season.
This season’s open house will have plenty of game-used and new hockey gear (sticks, skates, etc), plus some new and player-worn apparel. A must attend for any adult hockey player and a great chance to get the gears the pros wear for a fraction of the cost. Plus, it’ll just feel nice to trade a desk for the rink, for one day in early-June.
