TONIGHT’S MATCHUP: The Ontario Reign kick-off a three-game week on the road tonight from Nevada taking on the Henderson Silver Knights.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR ONTARIO: The Reign are coming off a weekend series split in Iowa where they fell 4-1 on Friday before bouncing back for a 3-1 victory on Saturday. Ontario has collected a point in 12 of their last 13 games, 9-1-2-1, dating back to Feb. 18. With 10 games remaining in the regular season for Ontario, they hold the top spot in the Pacific Division with 85 points. Colorado with just as many games to go sits in second place with 82 points as they next play in Calgary on Friday and San Jose with 80 points is in third with 12 games to play hosts Texas this evening.

– The Reign picked up their 40th win of the season on Saturday joining Providence (47) and Grand Rapids (44) as the only three teams in the AHL to hit the mark this year. It is the third straight season Ontario has recorded 40 or more wins and the fifth time in 11 seasons. The Reign’s highest win total in franchise history was 44 wins back in 2015-16.

– Tonight marks the third of six straight games on the road as the Reign have a point in five of their last six away from Toyota Arena, 4-1-1, and hold a 18-12-0 road record.

– The Reign have scored four or more goals in 29 contests this season posting a 26-2-1 record but have failed to score four or more in seven straight after doing so in their previous six. They’ve been outscored 18-17 in their last seven games.

– Ontario went 1-for-2 on the power-play last Saturday snapping a seven-game power-play goal-less streak, 0-for-15, which stretched from Mar.6-Mar.20. Nikita Alexandrov netted the goal for his fourth man advantage score of the season, 17th point, while Martin Chromiak picked up the primary helper for his team leading 18th power-play point. The Reign are 24-8-1 when scoring a power-play goal including 10-6-0 on the road.

– The Reign allowed a power-play goal for the third straight game on Saturday going 4-for-5 for the second consecutive game. Prior to allowing a man advantage goal against in three straight they had gone four in a row, 9-for-9, with giving one up.

– Ontario has been held to single digits in shots in six straight first periods and in five of their last six second periods.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR HENDERSON: The Silver Knights split a two-game series with the Texas Stars this past weekend picking up a 7-2 win on Sunday after losing 6-3 Saturday night. Henderson is 7-1-0 in their last eight games and have a point in 14 of their last 16, 12-2-0-2, dating back to Feb. 20. The Silver Knights currently sit in sixth place in the Pacific Division with 72 points with 11 games to play.

– During their last eight games Henderson has outscored their opponents 47-28 scoring five or more goals in six of eight. They have a power-play goal in six of their last eight games, 12 total, and are 32-for-90 (35.6%) over their last 26 games.

– Tonight concludes a three-game homestand for the Silver Knights before a two-game weekend series in Milwaukee. Henderson holds a 16-9-3-2 mark on home ice this season having gone 5-2-1-1 in their last nine but have lost two of their last three.

– Henderson is tied for first in the AHL with 71 goals in the first period, tied for second in the middle frame with 71 scores, and tied for third in period three with 75 tallies.

HEAD-TO-HEAD SERIES: Ontario holds a 5-2-0 mark vs. Henderson this season having won five straight including 2-1-0 at Lee’s Family Forum having won two in a row. The last five contests have all been decided by one-score with three of the five being determined in a shootout. The Silver Knights have outscored the Reign 21-20 as Ontario is 4-for-17 on the power-play and 18-for-21 on the penalty kill. Cole Guttman paces the way for the Reign with six points (2G, 4A) while Tanner Lacynski has notched seven points (3G, 4A). Pheonix Copley and Erik Portillo have each won two of their three starts against Henderson while Carl Lindbom is 1-0-2 and Cameron Whitehead is 1-1-0 for the Silver Knights.

BETWEEN TWO PIPES: For Ontario, Pheonix Copley picked up his second straight win on Saturday making 26 saves on 27 shots and has allowed just one goal in each of his last two appearances stopping 48 of 50 shots. He is 5-0-1 in his last six games with a 1.96 goals against average and .920 save percentage and 7-1-1 in his last nine with a 2.31 GAA and .903 SV%. Erik Portillo suffered his third straight loss Friday night allowing three goals on 25 shots. Prior to losing three straight, which include two beyond regulation, he had won four in a row. For Henderson, Carl Lindbom picked up his fourth straight decision win on Sunday making 23 saves on 25 shots. He was pulled in a start on Mar. 11 at Tucson allowing three goals on seven shots but is 11-0-1 in his last 12 decisions since Feb. 14 with a 2.55 GAA and .916 SV%. Cameron Whitehead suffered the loss last Saturday allowing five goals on 23 shots, his second consecutive game giving up five. He has won two of his last three after losing his previous eight games, 0-5-3.
