Happy Gameday, Insiders! After a break that lasted close to three weeks, the NHL returns tonight. And with the way the Kings entered the pause, making a big splash by trading for Artemi Panarin just before the league’s roster freeze, only to see the team fall flat on consecutive nights, maybe the Olympic break came at a good time. But now with the season set to resume, the group has work to do if they want to qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
One of the things Zach Dooley and I promised when we started The Insider Show this season was to use it as a different platform not only to engage you, the Insider reader, but also to respond to your questions and feedback. We had a good run of guests to give their thoughts on the team and league as a whole, while dissecting what they were seeing on the ice, but we thought now, as players return to the ice here in North America, would be the best time to try and do our best to answer anything on your mind.
Thanks to everyone who sent in thoughts when Zach put out the call for them last week. We attempted to answer at least one question from every user, but for those who had more than one in their comment, Zach promised he’d return to whatever we didn’t have time for soon. The full video, which we recorded yesterday on site in El Segundo, can be viewed via the Kings YouTube channel below.
If this is something you like, please let us know, and we can try to do another episode in this format as long as we keep getting questions! As of now, I’m looking to solidify a plan for a post-trade deadline interview show once all moves are finalized on March 6.
A full preview of tonight’s action against Vegas, courtesy of Zach, will be coming your way shortly after today’s morning skate!
