Happy Monday, Insiders!
The NHL announced this morning a season-opening tripleheader, with the Kings included in that announcement. The Kings will host the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday, October 7 at 7:30 PM at Crypto.com Arena as a part of the league’s first day of regular-season play. The game will be the third of three games broadcast on ESPN. It’s the second time in three seasons that the Kings and Avalanche have met in the season opener after Colorado defeated the Kings in the 2023-24 season opener at Crypto.com Arena. The Kings had opened four consecutive seasons at home from 2020-23 before beginning the 2024-25 schedule on the East Coast in Buffalo. Over the last five seasons, the Kings have now met Colorado and Vegas twice apiece in their first game of the season.
The @LAKings will begin their 2025-26 season on Tuesday, October 7 at 7:30 PM against Colorado at @cryptocomarena.

Full schedule drops on Wednesday!

The full 2025-26 schedule is set to be released on Wednesday, July 16 at 10 AM Pacific. Then, we’ll learn the final 81 games on the schedule that follow the season opener against the Avalanche. A schedule we’ve seen a few times over the last few seasons has been Game 1 at home but not a season-opening homestand. The Kings have played at home, maybe two games at home, and then gotten out on the road for a trip. I haven’t seen final copies of the schedule but wondering if we might see the same type of format here in 2025-26. Will find out soon enough. Will have an in-depth breakdown here on LAKI on Wednesday with a dive into the various quirks of the schedule.
Short one for today, but have some content planned for later in the week that will be a bit longer! Stay tuned.
