LA Kings Announce Development Camp Roster + Liam Greentree Update

The LA Kings have announced the full roster for their 2025 Development Camp, to be held at Toyota Sports Performance Center in El Segundo from June 30 – July 3.

The roster is headlined by seven of the nine players selected by the Kings during the 2025 NHL Draft, including first-round selection Henry Brzustewicz, who was drafted by the Kings with the 31st overall selection on Friday evening. Also expected to be in attendance is second-round selection Vojtech Cihar along with five of the team’s other seven selections, with the only exceptions being third-round pick Kristian Epperson and seventh-round selection Brendan McMorrow, with those absences known in advance by the Kings.

One note on the roster – Forward Liam Greentree, the team’s first-round selection in 2024, is scheduled to attend development camp this week but will be a limited participant group on-ice sessions, updated from what I was originally told, which is that he wouldn’t be on with the full group. Greentree had successful offseason surgery on his wrist, just after his OHL season ended, so while he skated, he didn’t fully participate in drills. From what I understand, he is expected to make a full recovery for the 2025-26 season, so we could see him for rookie and main training camp in the fall. There don’t seem to be any concerns with his recovery, just something that needed to be taken care of and it was. So, expect to see Greentree around the facility, just not as a full participant in the team on-ice sessions.

Beyond Greentree, several of the organization’s top prospects are slated to attend, including goaltenders Carter George and Hampton Slukynsky. George is coming off an impressive season in the OHL, which ended with him making his AHL debut with the Ontario Reign, in which is promptly pitched a 33-save shutout. George was tested more than any goaltender in the OHL last season and posted the league’s seventh-best save percentage despite the shot volume and caliber. For Slukynsky, he’s coming off a decorated season that included a gold medal at the World Junior Championships, an NCAA National Championship and a gold medal at the IIHF World Championships, working as the starting goaltender at Western Michigan for their run through the NCAA Tournament.

In total, in addition to the seven players from the 2025 NHL Draft, the Kings will have several other draft players in attendance, including Greentree, George and Slukynsky. Making their on-ice development camp debuts will be defenseman Kirill Kirsanov and forward James Reeder. Kirsanov was here last summer but did not participate due to injury. The Russian blueliner signed his entry-level contract with the Kings earlier this month and should play his first season of professional hockey in North America in 2025-26. For Reeder, he did not attend last summer’s camp but will be in California this summer, so we’ll get the chance to watch the 2024 seventh-round selection for the first time in person.

Also included is forward Jack Hughes. Hughes was a second-round selection of the Kings in 2022 and has yet to sign an entry-level contract with the organization though reports today suggest that could come this summer. The Kings retain his rights until August 15, 2025 before he would become eligible to sign with any club. He’ll be in development camp starting tomorrow and we’ll see where things go from there.

The total list of drafted attendees include –

Goaltenders (3) – Carter George, Petteri Rimpinen, Hampton Slukynsky
Defensemen (9) – Angus Booth, Henry Brzustewicz, Jakub Dvorak, Caeden Herrington, Kirill Kirsanov, Otto Salin, Will Sharpe, Jack Sparkes, Jared Woolley
Forwards (11) – Vojtech Cihan, Jan Chovan, Ryan Conmy, Kenny Connors, Liam Greentree, Jack Hughes, Kaleb Lawrence, Jimmy Lombardi, James Reeder, Jared Wright, Koehn Ziemmer
