Welcome to the draft, Insiders!
As the draft gets underway, the Kings have seven selections, including their first-round pick at 24th overall. That’s how things start but not necessarily how things will end. There’s lots of discussion around the Kings potentially trading down to amass an additional pick in the second round, as well as swirling rumors about possibly moving that pick for help now on the NHL roster.
For some pre-draft reading, take a look at the following stories heading into Round 1 this afternoon and evening.

For the draft as a whole, here’s what the Kings are working with entering the two-day event.
Round 1, Pick 24
Round 3, Pick 88
Round 4, Pick 120
Round 5, Pick 152
Round 6, Pick 184
Round 7, Pick 196
Round 7, Pick 216
As a reminder, the Kings do not have a second-round selection due to a trade last summer that acquired forward Tanner Jeannot. The Kings have an extra seventh-round selection as a part of the trade that brought forward Andrei Kuzmenko to Los Angeles back in March. Last season, the Kings made three trades on draft day, including one in the morning, before Day 1 and two during the draft on Day 2. While you never know how things will unfold, it’s certainly a “be on your toes” draft to. see what the Kings might do on the trade front around these seven selections and their NHL roster.
