Kings and Assistant Coach Trent Yawney “mutually agree to part ways”

A quick one this afternoon, Insiders.

The LA Kings and Assistant Coach Trent Yawney have “mutually agreed to part ways” as of this afternoon.

Vice President and General Manager Rob Blake on Yawney
We appreciate all that Trent has contributed over the past five seasons and thank him for his dedication to the organization.

Per the organization, “a replacement will be sought after a head coach has been hired.”

Yawney joined the organization in 2019, alongside Todd McLellan, and has served as an assistant coach with the Kings over the past five seasons, through the conclusion of the 2023-24 campaign. More to follow on the coaching situation as it comes about.
