Third Period
20:00 – The puck is down to begin the third period! Anaheim has 1:12 to play with on the power play with a clean sheet of ice.
19:07 – Max Jones heads off for cross-checking. After a brief 4-on-4, the Kings will be back on the power play.
16:33 – ANA Goal – A turnover in front of their own net costs the Kings, as Nathan Gaucher flicks the puck into the top right corner of the net to make it a one-goal game.
11:25 – Clarke is back in the penalty box for the Kings, who hauled down Jacob Perrault on an attempted spin move.
10:30 – During the Kings’ penalty kill, Akil Thomas had a break to the Anaheim net down the right wing, but his backhand shot attempt went high over the net.
9:20 – LA successfully killed the penalty to Clarke, and as he exited the box had a chance near the Ducks’ net on a nice pull and drag move by Laferriere that was stopped by Clang.
3:19 – The Kings have their fifth power play of the game after Jordan Spence was hooked in his own zone.
0:00 – The Kings pick up the win this evening in San Diego, holding off the Ducks late in the game.

Second Period
20:00 – The second period is live in San Diego!
18:37 – LA has started off the second the way they played to open the game, controlling play and directing pucks at the Anaheim net. Multiple chances came from Angus Booth and Hayden Hodgson to open the period.
18:30 – LAK Goal – Another breakaway goal for the Kings, this time from Hodgson, who has his first of the preseason in his third appearance. LA is ahead 4-1 early in the middle frame.
12:27 – The Kings get their first man-advantage of the night almost halfway through the contest when Andrew Agozzino was called for boarding.
11:20 – During LA’s power play, John Gibson went down after making a save and had his helmet off. He was attended to by a trainer and left the game. Calle Clang has come on in net for Anaheim.
8:40 – Anaheim’s Pavol Regenda was called for closing his hand on the puck in his own zone, which has the Kings on their second power play of the period.
7:57 – 43 seconds into the Kings power play TJ Tynan has been sent to the box for holding. The teams will play 4-on-4 hockey for 1:17.
7:37 – After a save by Portillo, Brandt Clarke stepped in to defend the crease and scrum broke out as a result. One penalty was called to Anaheim’s Drew Helleson for roughing and the Kings go back on the power play, this time a 4-on-3 for 57 seconds.
6:17 – Portillo comes up with his best save of the night during 4-on-4 play, denying a bid by Tristan Luneau off a scramble in the Kings’ zone.
5:07 – All penalties have come to an end. The Kings still hold a 4-1 lead as we hit the five-minute mark of the second period.
2:46 – ANA Goal – A bouncing puck found Agozzino in the low slot and he got enough on it for a quick shot up high over Portillo and into the net. LA still holds a lead, but it’s now 4-2.
0:48 – The Kings head to the penalty kill in the final minute of the period due to a minor on Brandt Clarke for hooking.
0:00 – An even period has the Kings continuing to lead by a pair of goals as the teams head into the locker room for the second intermission.

First Period
20:00 – After a ceremonial puck drop by former Chargers QB Drew Brees, we’re underway in San Diego!
19:10 – Martin Chromiak gets the first grade A chance of the night, with an open rush up the right wing and a wrister on net that was stopped by John Gibson.
13:15 – LAK Goal – The Kings take the lead on an outstanding passing play off a rush into the Ducks end. Laferriere was the recipient of Brandt Clarke’s no-look dish to the left, while Fagemo started the play and earned the second helper.
6:30 – Samuel Helenius is in the penalty box, serving a minor penalty for high sticking.
5:46 – ANA Goal – Andrew Agozino crashed the net on a loose rebound in the crease, which allowed Max Jones to finish off the play in front.
1:49 – LAK Goal – Martin Chromiak buries on the breakaway with assists by Tynan and Maltsev to put the Kings back in front, 2-1!
0:49 – LAK Goal – The Kings get two in a span of a minute as a centering feed by Fagemo got knocked out of the air by Ducks defender Tristan Luneau and picked up speed before flying by Gibson and into the net.
0:00 – The Kings scored three goals on eight shots in the first 20 minutes and hold a two-goal lead in San Diego after 1!
