What The Experts Said
Via FloHockey’s Chris Peters
A second-year eligible who had a breakout season with the Fighting Saints, Connors put up 56 points in 61 games. He plays with good pace and energy and has enough skill to suggest some greater offensive upside. Also, he’s headed to UMass, which has been a solid finishing school for players on an NHL track.
Quick Take – In his second year of eligibility, Connors projects to be a reliable two-way center who plays in all situations, but still has a ceiling he hasn’t hit yet. He’s an equal opportunity playmaker and a goal scorer who posted 25 tallies in the USHL last season. He has a pro toolkit, but wasn’t listed this year by the NHL’s Central Scouting despite teams having their eye on him all season.
