You might be interested in the first minute of the highlights Arthur Kaliyev package from Wednesday’s 6-0 win over Sweden at the World Junior Summer Showcase.
Kaliyev scored twice as part of a three-point, seven-shot outing in an afternoon the United States sat its veteran skaters. As part of a 2001-heavy lineup, Kaliyev skated to the right of Blake McLaughlin (ANA) and John Beecher (BOS), the latter of whom he found with a crisp pass for a bang-bang rush goal on the team’s first shot of the game. He added a pair of his own in the second period by knocking in a fluttering Jordan Harris (MTL) rebound out of mid-air with a baseball-style swat before emphatically burying the long rebound of a Zac Jones (NYR) shot.
Questions on his conditioning and compete level in all areas of the ice. But the hands and shot are elite. I think the Kings will be very happy. Their director of amateur scouting compared his upside to Tyler Toffoli https://t.co/t5ZTT0QNkM https://t.co/J526ouS3WO
