Game 2 vs. San Diego postgame quotes: Campbell, Amadio

Jack Campbell, on San Diego’s quick start:
They’re a good team, you know. We knew they’d respond from our win last night. Nobody’s gonna be happy about that if you lose a game like that. Give ’em credit, they came out flying but we can control that. We can, for one, I can make the save, so I make both of those saves it’s a different game. But then also as a collective group we can all do a little bit better.

Campbell, on what the Reign need to improve upon for Game 3:
Just sticking to our game. I just feel like we played a great game after the 10-minute mark of that first period but to win a playoff game against a good team like San Diego it takes 60 full minutes. Just learn from the first 10 tonight and move on.

Mike Amadio, on what San Diego did well in the first five minutes:
I think they just outskated us. They were getting pucks in, making our D turn back and making us play in our own end. I think as the second period started we got our legs under us and we were good from there. [Reporter: What can you learn from that as far as adjusting going into Game 3?] We knew they were going to come out hard after we won in their building. We know it’s going to be a tough series against them and we just gotta do what we did in Game 1 against them I think.

Amadio, on the physicality picking up in Game 2:
That’s playoff hockey. We’ve had a rivalry with them I don’t know how long. We knew it was going to be like that and we just got to keep playing our game.

Amadio, on the success of shuffled lines being something that can carry over:
Yeah, I think so. All the lines played really well there in the third. We had some chemistry between the guys and it was nice that we were playing in the offensive zone.

Amadio, on his goal and his other chance where Kerdiles stopped it in crease:
The goal, Schills made a great pass to me, found me all alone there. The second play I just tried to get it on net, it went right through the crease. Just trying, hopefully someone would bang it in there.
