April 8 postgame notes

-With the win, Los Angeles improved to 82-88-22 all-time against Chicago, a record that includes a home mark of 43-40-11. With a record of 2-1-0 against the Blackhawks, the Kings won the season series for the second consecutive year.

-With the win, Los Angeles improved to 24-20-5 against the Western Conference, 12-6-3 against the Central Division, 19-13-7 in one-goal games, 18-30-2 when their opponent scores first, 11-21-2 when trailing after one, 5-31-1 when trailing after two and 8-8-2 when outshot by their opponent.

-Since the implementation of three-on-three overtime, the Kings are now 24-6 in games decided in OT and 12-3 this season. Their 24 wins and .800 winning percentage lead the league. Drew Doughty’s overtime goal was his first OTGWG of the season and the third of his career.

-Los Angeles finished the season with a home record of 23-16-2.

-Anze Kopitar (0-3=3) registered his fourth game this season with three or more points. His 40 assists are most on the team and marks the fourth consecutive season in which he broke the 40-assist barrier. He recorded 32 assists in the lockout-shortened 2012-13 season. The last full season in which he failed to earn at least 50 assists was 2008-09.

-Jeff Carter (0-3=3) tied his career-high for assists in a game. His 66 points are the most on the team and the most he has recorded in any season since he recorded 66 (36-30=66) in 2010-11 with Philadelphia. The only season in which he recorded more than 66 points was 2008-09, when he totaled 84 (46-38=84).

-Dustin Brown scored the Kings’ fourth extra attacker goal of the season, but only the first that tied a game and/or resulted in a win.

-Brayden McNabb played his 200th game as a King.

-Los Angeles sold out all 41 games this season and has now sold out 213 consecutive games at Staples Center (246, including postseason).

-The Kings attempted 60 shots (26 on goal, 18 blocked, 16 missed). The Blackhawks attempted 55 shots (27 on goal, 12 blocked, 16 missed). Jeff Carter, Tyler Toffoli, Drew Doughty, Marian Hossa and Ryan Hartman tied with a game-high four blocked shots.

-Los Angeles won 35-of-63 faceoffs (56%). Anze Kopitar won 14-of-23, Nick Shore won 10-of-17, Adrian Kempe won 4-of-6 and Jeff Carter won 7-of-17.

The Kings are not scheduled to practice tomorrow before traveling to face Anaheim at Honda Center.
