March 9 postgame quotes: Jarome Iginla

Jarome Iginla, on the importance of the win:
Yeah it felt great as a group and also to be able to tie there in the third and then have a big penalty kill there with about five minutes left. That was really big and Quickie’s saves there to keep it there, to keep it tied. It was a hard fought game for sure. Lots on the line and it feels good to be able to get that win as a group and in OT.

Iginla, on scoring two goals:
Yeah it feels good. Especially, you know, just a new team and to be with the guys and to be able to try to find some way to contribute. You know, I was excited to be out there at the end in a key situation and just trying to get some shots and we were running a shooting PP there and they were backed in and Drew gave me a couple looks and Kopi, and I was fortunate when I shot that one it came right back. I don’t think they knew where it was and it was a good break, good bounce but we’ll take it. It’s fun, these games there’s a lot on the line and it feels great to be back in these type and to be here. It was a great atmosphere in the building, too.

Iginla, on how he feels about the Kings playoff chances:
Well I’m positive. I’m very optimistic. I know we’ve got a lot of work to do but these guys, they’re winners. It’s a group, a very tight-knit group. You can, not just coming to play with them over the last week but just playing against them. This time of year, you know, they find ways. A whole crew of them have two Stanley Cups, you know. The leadership that they have, they get in these tight games and they seem to like ’em even more. So like i said, there’s a lot of work left to do but these are fun and you can see the guys around here, they enjoy these types of games and are used to them. You know, these big games and one-goal games and you see Quickie in there. Just such key saves so it’s a big win tonight but it’s going to be a last fun month of the regular season but I definitely am optimistic about it. I think if you went around and asked every guy, I don’t think there’s a doubt. Everyone believes we can get in.
