POSTGAME NOTES

–The Reign dropped to 28-15-8-0 overall and 3-2-1-0 against the Heat (22-22-4-1). Ontario also dropped to 11-8-6-0 on the road and 22-15-8-0 against Pacific Division opponents.

–Ontario (51 GP, .627 winning percentage) remains third in the Pacific Division behind first-place San Jose (49 GP, .724) and second-place San Diego (49 GP, .673).

–Goalie Jack Campbell started his 36th straight game but was pulled 4:57 into the second period after allowing three goals on four shots in the frame. He allowed four goals on 16 shots in 24:57 of work. Jeff Zatkoff made his AHL-Reign debut and stopped 18 of 20 shots the rest of the way.

–The six goals allowed by the Reign were the most they’ve surrendered this season.

–Justin Auger scored his 11th goal of the season and his second shorthanded goal.

–Michael Mersch scored a power play goal (his 11th goal overall) in his first game back since a knee injury sustained on Jan. 14. He had missed 18 games.

–T.J. Hensick had an assist on the Mersch goal and now has two goals and two assists in the last four games.

IN-GAME NOTES

–Goalie Jack Campbell was pulled after allowing three goals on four shots in the first five minutes of the second period. In 24:57 of play he made 12 saves on 16 shots. Jeff Zatkoff entered the game to make his AHL-Reign debut with his team trailing 4-1 just 4:57 into the middle frame.

PREGAME NOTES

–Both Michael Mersch and Teddy Purcell returning tonight. Mersch has been out since suffering a knee injury on Jan. 14 against Bakersfield and Purcell has been out since suffering an undisclosed injury in early February in the first practice following the All-Star break.

–Goalie Jack Campbell led the Reign onto the ice and will start his 36th straight game. He will face Jon Gillies on the other end.
