-With the win, Los Angeles improved to 18-10-3 all-time against Florida, a record that includes a road mark of 6-6-3. The Kings improved to 13-2-0 in the last 15 games overall against the Panthers and ensured that they will not lose the season series for the first time since 2002-03. These teams will conclude their season series on February 18 at Staples Center.
-Los Angeles improved to 12-12-2 against the Eastern Conference, 4-7-1 against the Atlantic Division, 9-10 in games decided by three or more goals, 19-5-2 when scoring first, 16-1-1 when leading after one period and 6-6-0 when outshot by an opponent.
-With a 4-for-4 performance, the Kings have now killed off 26 consecutive power plays. The last power play goal scored against the Kings was John Tavares’ power play empty net goal in the New York Islanders’ 4-2 win at Barclays Center on January 21.
-By winning his 214th game with Los Angeles, Darryl Sutter moved within one win of Andy Murray (215) for the most wins all-time in franchise history.
-With two points, Dustin Brown (495 points) leapfrogged Rob Blake (494 points) for eighth place on the team’s all-time points list.
-Jeff Carter scored his 28th and 29th goals of the season to move within one goal of Sidney Crosby (30 goals) for the NHL lead. With two assists, he now has 299 career assists. He recorded his seventh career four-point game.
-Tanner Pearson played his 199th career game.
-Brayden McNabb finished with his first career plus-five rating, doing so in 16:38 of ice time. He had been a plus-two once this season and a plus-three three previous times in his career.
-The Kings attempted 43 shots (26 on goal, 6 blocked, 11 missed). The Panthers attempted 52 shots (39 on goal, 6 blocked, 7 missed).
-Los Angeles won 24-of-65 faceoffs (37%). Anze Kopitar won 11-of-28, Nick Shore won 8-of-15, Trevor Lewis won 1-of-3, Nic Dowd won 0-of-6 and Jeff Carter won 4-of-13.
The Kings are on their league-mandated bye week. Their next practice is scheduled for Wednesday, February 15 at Toyota Sports Center (time TBA).
