February 3 postgame quotes: Gilbert and Amadio

Tom Gilbert, on his first impressions from his first game with Ontario:
It was good. It’s actually been a while since I played a game so it was refreshing to get back on the ice. It was a good game. I think we probably should have come out with a better outcome there but guys were doing the right thing on the ice.

Gilbert, on a frustrating loss but being able to face San Diego right away Saturday:
That’s the good thing about back-to-back games. You get to go back out there and prove to the other team that you can go out there and get two points from them. Learn from what happened tonight and come out stronger tomorrow.

Gilbert, on playing with a completely new partner in Lintuniemi:
It was good. the game was good. I know for myself I’m a lot better. Like I said it’s been a while, I expect a lot more from me.

Gilbert, on being able to get on the power play:
Yeah it was good. Just to get into the flow of the game. It was great. We rolled lines pretty good tonight and that’s what you need.

Mike Amadio, on being able to face San Diego again on Saturday:
It’s nice. We’re able to go into their rink tomorrow and get a win. We’ve just got to come out hard like we did tonight and hopefully get the two points.

Amadio, on the challenges for the forwards with Purcell out and Bissonnette leaving early:
Teddy obviously we rely on to score goals and make plays out there so there was a sense where other guys had to step up and put pucks in the back of the net. Biss is great to have around on the bench. He’s a great guy on and off the ice so it was tough to see him get hurt again there.

Amadio, on the pace of the game and how the legs felt after the All-Star break:
I thought the start there a little slow but once we got them underneath us we were good the rest of the way.
