-Jeff Carter’s goal ended the Islanders’ team shutout streak of 166:44. With 24 goals, Carter ranks second in the league behind Sidney Crosby’s 27 goals, and ahead of Evgeni Malkin and Auston Matthews, who have 22 goals.
-By playing in his 804th career game, Anze Kopitar moved within one game of Rob Blake (805 games) for fifth place in games played in franchise history.
-Los Angeles attempted 60 shots (36 on goal, 10 blocked, 14 missed). New York attempted 66 shots (36 on goal, 16 blocked, 14 missed). Anders Lee led all skaters with seven shots on goal, while Andy Andreoff, Dustin Brown and Jeff Carter tied with a game-high four shots on goal for L.A.
-The Kings won 43-of-76 faceoffs (57%). Among regular performers, Anze Kopitar won 13-of-29, Andy Andreoff won 1-of-1, Nick Shore won 11-of-19, Nic Dowd won 2-of-5 and Jeff Carter won 16-of-21.
