-With the loss, Los Angeles fell to 84-82-32 all-time against Detroit, a record that includes a home mark of 49-35-15. The teams split the season series, with each team winning in the other team’s home rink in regulation.

-Anze Kopitar has one goal in his last 27 games and no goals and two assists in his last 11 games. Marian Gaborik has been held without a point in his last 10 games.
-The Kings attempted 69 shots (34 on goal, 19 blocked, 16 missed). The Red Wings attempted 42 shots (22 on goal, 13 blocked, 7 missed).
-Los Angeles won 26-of-54 faceoffs (48%). Among regular performers, Anze Kopitar won 8-of-14, Nick Shore won 6-of-12, Nic Dowd won 4-of-11 and Jeff Carter won 7-of-16.
