Saturday Straight Up rewind, plus a poll

Insiders! I’m not sure if you’ve caught one of FOX Sports West’s newest in-game features, but for Saturday games, Jesse Cohen hosts a quick, round table discussion on hockey topics (and broader topics) related to current trends with the team and the outside world. For instance, this past week, we discussed who should represent the Kings at the All-Star Game, and what our favorite Christmas movies are. (We all went dark.)

Puck Daddy’s Josh Cooper and I had been guests on the panel since its inception, but Josh was in Florida at the Board of Governors meetings last week, so Sean O’Donnell took a shift that clearly ended with a plus-two rating:

And that leads us to our poll: Which Kings deserve an All-Star bid? Keep in mind that fans are voting only for each team’s All-Star captains this year, and the remaining 40 players will be named by NHL Hockey Operations. (For more on the All-Star Game format, click here.)

With 11 players on each team – nine skaters and two goalies – and each team in the division having to be represented, who should draw a bid to participate in his home building? Share any other players from favorite teams like San Jose, Anaheim and Vancouver that you’d like to see named to the Pacific Division team in the commenting section.

A reminder: The skills competition takes place on Saturday, January 28, with the All-Star Tournament following on Sunday, January 29. Both events will take place at Staples Center. To vote for the team captains, click here.
