POSTGAME NOTES
–The Reign improved to 9-5-4-0 by defeating the Roadrunners, who lost their fourth straight and dropped to 9-5-3-0. Overall, the Reign improved to 2-1-1-0 vs. Tucson and 6-5-4-0 against Pacific Division opponents. Ontario has won three games in a row for the first time this season and is now 5-2-3-0 on the road. The Reign are 2-4 in games decided in overtime.
–The Reign have scored three or more goals in their last four games and have a 3-1-0-0 record in that stretch.
–Teddy Purcell played in his first game with the Reign since clearing waivers and being assigned to the AHL affiliate by the Kings and scored the game-winner on a breakaway on his team’s only shot on goal in overtime. He skated alongside Justin Auger and Mike Amadio and finished with two shots on goal.
–The Reign’s penalty kill finished 4-for-4 to improve to 66-for-83 (79.5 percent) on the season. The Reign’s power play, which came into the game first in the AHL, went 0-for-4 and dropped to 16-for-63 (25.3 percent).
–Goalie Jack Campbell finished with 35 saves on 37 shots to improve to 6-2-1-1. Campbell has started the Reign’s last four games, going 3-1-0-0 since his return from a groin injury.
–The Reign picked up their first win of the season in which Michael Mersch didn’t register at least a point.
–Auger scored his sixth goal of the season and now has two goals and an assist in his last four games.
–The Reign outshot Tucson, 37-36. Kurtis MacDermid, who scored his second goal of the season, led all skaters with six shots on goal.

–With 12:04 left in the first period a goal by Tucson was waved off. We didn’t get official word on the reasoning but Christian Fischer was sitting in the crease when the puck crossed the goal line. The initial play started on a faceoff win by the Roadrunners and shot off that win from Laurent Dauphin.
