Reign release goalie Jonah Imoo from PTO

Goalie Jonah Imoo has been released from his PTO, the Reign announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Imoo had not seen game action since Oct. 29 against Texas, a game in which he left due to a lower-body injury. Imoo, the son of Reign goalie coach Dusty Imoo, went 0-0-1 in two games played with a 3.32 goals against average and .872 save percentage in his first stint of pro hockey. He practiced with Ontario on Tuesday morning prior to the release.

The 22-year-old Imoo of course made his debut on Oct. 22 against San Jose in a 5-4 overtime loss, a game that was widely reported due to the fact that Jonah was being backed up by Dusty on an emergency basis due to injuries at the goaltending position.

Imoo’s release leaves the Reign with two rostered goalies in Jack Campbell and Jack Flinn.
