On “frantic” play in the third, and whether it was due to fatigue or an Anaheim push:
I don’t think so. I didn’t think it was that frantic. We played a really hard game considering we played last night and we played two back-to-backs in the last week. They’re fresh and ready to go.
On the team’s start, and how it carried into the second period:
I thought we knew we were going to need everybody. We couldn’t be short-staffed in terms of effort or compete, and I thought we were pretty good in that area. I think obviously Jeff Had a big game for us.
On Jeff Carter’s line during the three-game winning streak:
They’ve scored every game and Jeff’s been a dominant player. [Reporter: And the wingers, too – Tyler’s game has picked up.] The young guys are learning how to play on the road. If there was anything I’d take out of tonight, it was we had a lot of young guys who hadn’t played a meaningful or full game in here. You look at Dowd, Shore, Forbort, Gravel – guys like that – who haven’t had much impact in this building yet, so it was good for them to see this environment, I think.
On a quick turnaround in an emotional building:
Division games are tough. It’s a tough division. Our travel hasn’t been easy. We probably felt tonight like Anaheim did earlier in the year where you’re getting a lot of games jammed down your throat and everybody’s criticizing you and you just try and stick together in the room and soldier on.
On the team’s energy at the start of the game:
I thought the building had a lot of energy. Usually when you play the night before, you’re going to come out like you finished your game the night before and that’s what we did, but you’re also going to know at some point the tank’s going to start heading down – the needle’s going to go the other way with you a little bit, and that I think was evident.
On Jeff Carter surpassing 600 career points:
Yeah, and I’d bet he has another 100 in the playoffs, too. I’m not sure, but I’ll bet. [Reporter: He said his goal now is 700.] As I said, he’s been a really good leader. If you look at our centermen, Lewie’s playing center, and the other two kids are sort of finding their way. We need Jeff – it’s a tough challenge in this building. They can put Getzlaf and Kesler and Vermette out on the ice every faceoff, every shift if they want. It’s a lot of experience, a lot of size there.
On whether Anze Kopitar could play Wednesday after several days off:
We’ll just see. He’s better every day. When he says he’s ready, then we’ll find a spot for him.
