November 5 postgame notes

-With the win, Los Angeles improved to 94-109-28 all-time against Calgary, a record that includes a home marlk of 58-45-12. The Kings have won five straight games against the Flames, dating back to the beginning of last year’s season series.

-Los Angeles improved to 4-5-0 against the Western Conference and 2-2-0 against the Pacific Division.

-The Kings ended a streak of 17 consecutive games in which they were unable to win a game in regulation. Tonight’s win was the first by more than one goal since a 3-0 home win over the Flames on March 31, 2016.

-The five goals by Los Angeles represented the greatest haul of the season and the most goals scored since a 5-4 overtime win at Calgary on April 5, 2016.

-With two goals, Devin Setoguchi scored his first goals since March 1, 2014 (with Winnipeg, at Nashville), and recorded his first multi-goal game since January 31, 2014 (with Winnipeg, versus Vancouver).

-By stopping all 24 shots, Peter Budaj recorded his 12th career shutout and first as a King. His last shutout came on October 28, 2013, the date the renovated Madison Square Garden re-opened. He is tied for third in the league with six wins.

-Dustin Brown registered his fifth and sixth assists of the year, most among Kings forwards.

-Only three Kings were not on the ice for any goals: Tanner Pearson, Anze Kopitar and Teddy Purcell.

-Alec Martinez led all skaters in ice time with 24:11.

-Los Angeles attempted 68 shots (39 on goal, 13 blocked, 16 missed). Calgary attempted 53 shots (24 on goal, 11 blocked, 18 missed). Jake Muzzin led all skaters with six shots on goal, while Anze Kopitar led all skaters with seven shot attempts.

-The Kings won 26-of-59 faceoffs (44%). Anze Kopitar won 12-of-24, Nick Shore won 3-of-6, Trevor Lewis won 0-of-2, Nic Dowd won 4-of-14, and Jeff Carter won 7-of-13.

Sunday, November 6 is an off-day for the team. The next practice will take place at Toyota Sports Center at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, November 7.
