Audio: Quick hits with Jared Spurgeon (+ Boudreau press conference)

In crafting what should be a lengthy career as an NHL defenseman, the 5-foot-9 Jared Spurgeon has relied on his positioning, smarts and poise instead of typical professional hockey size. He’s a right-side, prime minutes eater on a team that has qualified for the playoffs for four straight years and spoke about the team’s transition under head coach Bruce Boudreau, the way it uses its speed to play with a good pace, and what Minnesota will do to counter a Kings team looking to pour more shots on net.

BONUS: Here’s Boudreau’s chat with reporters this morning, which eventually contained some recollections of facing Los Angeles.
