Bus Texts with Stothers: Rookie Game 1 edition

Bus Texts with Stothers has returned for a second season, and this time around we’re working out the kinks in rookie camp.

Here’s what a happy head coach Mike Stothers had to say after the Kings’ rookies defeated the Coyotes’ 3-1 on Tuesday night at Gila River Arena in Glendale, Ariz. The overall grade was a good one.

ORI: Who jumped off the page tonight? And did anyone surprise you?
Stothers: We were real pleased with all our guys. They played with structure and had good compete. There was a lot of positives throughout the lineup.
ORI: When we last talked about Lintuniemi and Sharipzianov yesterday you said it was hard to assess before seeing them in game action. What did you like from them and where do you want to see more?
Stothers: Really liked both of their games tonight. Sharpy made some great reads and decisions. He plays hard and is hard to play against. Linty moved his feet and skated the puck. Played with his head up and moved the puck with crispness and accuracy.
ORI: Any comments on the chemistry of the Brodzinski, Amadio, Lowry line? They’re expected to shine here but did any other of the younger forwards impress that you can acknowledge?
Stothers: I liked everybody tonight. I thought they brought some good things to the table at various points in the game. All good tonight. Very proud of the guys.
