NHL Network video: Purcell interview, Kings outlook

After several rousing Patrick O’Neal voiceovers and Nick Nickson goal calls, NHL Network segued into an interesting conversation on Wednesday with Teddy Purcell, who will return to the Kings after signing a one-year, $1.6M contract with the club on July 1. He spoke about the familiarity of having come up through Los Angeles’ system as part of the influence that led him to sign with the club before shedding some light on his off-season training regimen with fitness expert and 1989 Stanley Cup champion Gary Roberts.

After speaking with Purcell, Steve Mears and Bill Lindsay discussed the Kings’ outlook for the upcoming season and addressed the question as to whether they’re still Stanley Cup contenders.
