On how similar Rob Scuderi’s role will be compared to his role in his previous tenure:
I would say our defense is younger, so where he fits, we’ll just see. He wants to play, and we’ll just see where he fits in. He’s a good role player.
On the mutual familiarity and comfort with Scuderi:
It’s easy to slide in because there’s probably still, what, 14 guys or 15 guys that you know he’s played with. It’s easy to come back in when you’re comfortable with your teammates.
On whether Scuderi adds to the team’s leadership:
Yeah, when you’re into the last quarter of the season, experience is important. It doesn’t matter if you want to be a playoff team or you’re trying to be a playoff team, the experience at this end of the year is important. Experience of winning is important.
On the Buffalo Sabres:
They’re a physical team and they’re a fast team.
