February 14 postgame notes

-With the loss, Los Angeles fell to 53-31-14 all-time against the New Jersey franchise, a record that includes an away mark of 23-20-7. The Kings lost in regulation for the third time in the last 11 road games in the series. Sunday’s game ended a streak of five consecutive regular season games won by the road team. These teams will conclude their season series on March 12 at Staples Center.

-Wil the loss, Los Angeles fell to 15-8-2 against the Eastern Conference and 8-4-0 against the Metropolitan Division.

-Though the Kings were shut out for the fourth time this season, over the last 14 games they have scored 45 goals (3.21 G/GP) and have allowed 41 (2.92). The last time Los Angeles was shut out was a 3-0 loss to the Minnesota Wild on January 21.

-Sunday’s game was only the third time in the last 23 games that the Kings scored fewer than two goals.

-Dustin Brown played his team-leading 150th consecutive game.

-Los Angeles attempted 52 shots (28 on goal, 13 blocked, 11 missed). New Jersey attempted 34 shots (18 on goal, 9 blocked, 7 missed). Jake Muzzin led all skaters with five shots on goal and 10 shot attempts (5 on goal, 3 blocked, 2 missed). The only Devils to record more than one shot on goal were Lee Stempniak (three), David Schlemko (two) and Reid Boucher (two).

-The Kings won 31-of-56 faceoffs (55%). Among regular performers, Anze Kopitar won 13-of-23, Nick Shore won 1-of-5, Trevor Lewis won 1-of-1, Vincent Lecavalier won 6-of-10 and Jeff Carter won 10-of-17.
