Video: Black and White, Episode 6: The Bench

The Black and White series continues with a focus on the Kings bench, which vies to remain steady and driven despite the ebbs and flows of momentum in an NHL game. John Stevens and Davis Payne articulate the tactical adjustments from ice level as Bill Ranford communicates what he sees from upstairs, while Darryl Sutter spurs his team on through both verbal cues and a pair of taps to the backs of Dustin Brown and Tyler Toffoli. KingsVision picked the right game to install cameras and microphones on the bench.

“Any little talk at the end of the game could make the difference. You see something on the ice, ‘this might work,’ well, we’ll talk about it, and at the end of the game, that could be the play that puts you over the edge, you know?”
-Jeff Carter
