Good morning, Calgary, and good morning, Insiders.
We’re in downtown Calgary, and the area around our hotel has turned into a construction zone encompassing several city blocks as new skyscrapers have rapidly emerged from the Eau Clare earth and have seemingly doubled in height since our last visit here three and a half months ago. The economy doesn’t appear to be as strong in Southern Alberta as it was when shovels hit the ground to raise these glass and steel behemoths, so hopefully there is a rebound (that somehow includes a nationwide rally of the Canadian dollar). Related: I am a hockey blogger with a theater degree, so don’t listen to anything I have to say about economics.
Waking up with the Kings will go up in the next 90 minutes, followed by The view from Edmonton (fun reading, yay!) and quotes and reports from practice, which is scheduled to take place at 2:00 p.m. at the Saddledome. I’ll also be working on my LAKings.com feature, which should go up late tomorrow morning and will be a good read.
There’s a big game Thursday, Insiders. Many reports to get you prepared for it will follow.
