Stoll has resumed skating

As learned from General Manager Dean Lombardi, Jarret Stoll skated for the second consecutive day on Wednesday in his attempt to return from an upper-body injury sustained when he absorbed an unpenalized Derek Dorsett hit during the third period of Los Angeles’ 4-0 win at Vancouver on March 12. Though the team has not specified the exact nature of Stoll’s injury, Alec Martinez’s recovery from “concussion-like symptoms” was referenced within the context of Stoll’s evaluation in a conversation with hockey operations 10 days ago.

As noted during Martinez’s recovery, the process of returning from such an injury includes getting through multiple strenuous workouts on a stationary bike before being able to resume skating again. Stoll has graduated from that step and has returned to the ice. At this time, there is no further update on his skating regimen or any type of timetable for a potential return. He is not with the Kings in the five-game trip that continues Thursday night at the New York Islanders.

In 67 games this season, Stoll has six goals, 15 points and a plus-four rating while averaging 15:41 of ice time. Los Angeles is 3-2-1 since his injury.
