October 12 postgame notes

-Los Angeles improved to 11-3-4 all-time against the Winnipeg/Atlanta franchise, a record that includes a home mark of 7-0-2. The Kings improved to 3-1-1 overall and 2-0-0 at home against the Jets since their relocation to Winnipeg.

-The Kings are 1-0-0 on a six-game homestand (4-1 W vs WPG, 10/14 EDM, 10/16 STL, 10/19 MIN, 10/23 BUF, 10/26 CBJ)., their second-longest homestand of the year.

– With two first period assists, Drew Doughty (164 assists) passed Marty McSorley for fifth on the all-time assist list amongst Kings defensemen and 22nd overall in club history. Doughty led the team in TOI for the third consecutive game (23:31). He currently ranks first in the NHL in total TOI (80:59) and fourth in the NHL in TOI/GM (26:59).

-Darryl Sutter won his 99th game as Los Angeles’ head coach. The fastest coach to 100 wins with the organization was Terry Murray, who accomplished the feat in 197 games. Sutter coached his 182nd game as a King tonight.

-The line of Jeff Carter (1-1=2), Tanner Pearson (1-1=2) and Tyler Toffoli (1-1=2) combined for six points and registered a plus-8 rating. In the last two games the line has nine points (5-4=9) with a plus-14 rating.

-Carter, Doughty, Pearson and Toffoli all had multi-point games. The last time at least four Kings had multi-point games was Apr. 2, 2014 vs. PHX (now Arizona), when Carter, Kopitar, Martinez and Pearson recorded multi-point efforts.

-Martin Jones earned his first win of the season and 13th of his career. Including the preseason, Martin Jones has stopped 119-of-125 shots he has faced. That is good for a .952 SV% and a 1.38 GAA.

-The Kings attempted 55 shots (31 on goal, 10 blocked, 14 missed). The Jets attempted 50 shots (30 on goal, 8 blocked, 12 missed). Michael Frolik led all skaters with seven shots on goal.

-Los Angeles won 30-of-67 faceoffs. Among regular perfomers, Mike Richards won 10-of-18, Anze Kopitar won 9-of-16, Jarret Stoll won 8-of-20 and Jeff Carter won 3-of-13.

The Kings are scheduled to practice at 11:00 a.m. at Toyota Sports Center on Monday.
