October 11 postgame quotes: Kopitar, Greene

Anze Kopitar, trying to build chemistry with Marian Gaborik again:
We definitely have to get the chemistry back at what we had before. I thought towards the end of the game it was a little bit better. We were making some plays, but we’ve got to start and we’ve got to score goals and create chances. That’s the bottom line.

Anze Kopitar, on the power play:
I think the entries were good today. I think the play in the zone has to be better and we probably have to get more shots. We definitely have to get more shots. We’re going to work on it. It was a step forward, a step in the right direction but now we’ve got to cash in on it.

Anze Kopitar, on allowing 40 shots on goal:
Maybe our checking wasn’t as good as we wanted it to be tonight. We were allowing some pretty good chances and Quickie was there for us, which we’re used to now. We have to play tight, that’s for sure. We can’t give up 40 shots and think – well we did have a good chance to win tonight – but that’s not going to happen on a regular basis. We have to tighten it up for sure.

Anze Kopitar, on Arizona battling back from a two-goal deficit:
I don’t think they were out of the game. They came out of the gate strong and it was a good game going on. We did score two quick ones in the first, but we can’t sit on a lead. We’ve got to play and press on the gas pedal.

Anze Kopitar, on whether the team played with more emotion:
I think it was a step in the right direction. I think it was a better game. Not to a level we need to play to, to win, to put up points consistently and we’re going to have to improve on that.

Matt Greene, on the penalty kill:
The PK has got to be better. That’s two goals on me not getting clears. That’s the difference.

Matt Greene, on the loss:
We lost 3-2. They outshot us and [we] gave up two PP goals.

Matt Greene, on what adjustments the team needs to make:
Kill better penalties and that’s it. Then just take care of special teams. Be better on that side of things and not give up as many shots, but just play an overall better team game.
