October 2 morning skate quotes: Darryl Sutter

On whether the altitude, the Olympic ice surface and a team with “speedy forwards” provide an endurance test:
Yeah, we’re a team of speedy forwards, so it’s an endurance test for both teams. Keep giving guys minutes and try and give guys more role opportunities is kind of what we’re looking at.

On what he’d like to see fine-tuned before the season opens next week:
There’s all aspects of the game – when you have the puck, when you don’t have the puck, and when they have the puck. It’s not as easy as it sounds, so there’s a lot of not X’s and O’s but a lot of issues where execution and things like that that we’re looking for in certain areas. Still looking for the right combinations and fits. I’m not over-analyzing. We’re down to our group, basically. It’s not too complicated.

On his conversations with Jonathan Quick since Tuesday:
I talked to him after the game. Obviously he was fine. We’ll get him action in both games, hopefully, and have him ready for Wednesday. [Reporter: So, if you can share, 60 minutes tonight that you expect from Jon?] We’ll play both goalies.
