Not that you weren’t aware before the press release was published today, but the entire FOX Sports West TV gang is back. Bob Miller and Jim Fox will provide play-by-play and color commentary, Patrick O’Neal will host, Alex Curry will provide interviews and reports at home, Sean O’Donnell will serve as a Kings Live and intermission analyst, and I’ll handle pre and post-game road interviews and reports. In total, 72 games will be broadcast by FOX Sports West, Prime Ticket (10/31 @ DET, 4/6 @ VAN, 4/7 @ EDM) and KCOP-TV (12/12 @ MON, 12/22 vs CGY, 2/27 @ ANA)
Miller, presented with the Foster Hewitt Memorial Award in 2000 by the Hockey Hall of Fame, will call Kings hockey for his 42nd season while Fox returns for his 25th season in the broadcast booth. For O’Neal, it’s a milestone 10th season serving as a host and reporter.
As for several specials, Kings Live: Season Preview Special debuts on Saturday, October 4. A profile of six players and their days with the Stanley Cup titled Kings Insider: Day with the Cup will debut on Saturday, October 11, and the 2014-15 premiere of Kings Weekly will air on Thursday, October 16. The popular Making of the Kings Ice Crew Calendar will debut on November 4.
Kings preseason games versus Anaheim on September 25 and Colorado on October 4 will also be broadcast on FOX Sports West. The regular season FOX Sports West broadcast premiere will be the game at Arizona on October 11.
Radio broadcasts on KABC 790 and I Heart Radio will begin with tonight’s split squad game between the Kings and Coyotes at Staples Center with Nick Nickson and Daryl Evans on the call. I’ll have reports, multimedia and a live blog from the other split squad game in Glendale, Arizona.
