Tuesday rookie game live blog and streaming video

Arizona Coyotes 4, Los Angeles Kings 1
Final

PP: LAK– 0/2; ARI – 1/4

THIRD PERIOD
20:00 – Adam Brown is in net for Kelowna Arizona. Kim Dillabaugh was his goalie coach when he was in the WHL.
18:25 – Good hit by Valentin Zykov on Tobias Rieder at the Arizona blue line. Kept the puck in the zone momentarily. Prior to that, there was a nice Leslie dangle that didn’t result in a shot on goal. Separated from the puck.
15:47 – PENALTIES, ARI, LAK. High sticking calls assessed on Horvat, Lessio. Kings were set to earn a power play, but Horvat took his penalty right as Arizona touched the puck. 4-on-4.
14:50 – Ebert snuck in, received a pass from Shore, but fired over the net from just to the right of the slot.
14:09 – PENALTY, ARI. Ashton Sautner sent off for a high stick. Forbort, McKeown, Zykov and Dowd start off on the 4-on-3.
12:09 – Power play over.
10:05 – GOAL ARI – 1-3. Tobias Rieder finds a seam down the left wing and uses speed to beat Maxwell up high, short side. There had been pretty good Kings pressure if not a ton of Grade-A chances beforehand. Good compete level in the third by LA.
8:05 – Roland McKeown took a drop pass on a three-on-two and tried to move around a defender at the high slot. Ended up in a tougher angle; his pass was broken up.
5:06 – PENALTY, LAK. Holding on Darren Raddysh.
3:55 – Really nice power play save by Maxwell on Rieder, who had glided towards the tops of the circles and unleashed a hard wristshot. Glove save.
3:06 – Kings kill the penalty. Back to full strength.
2:45 – Kings pull Maxwell for the extra attacker.
1:43 – Time out, Kings.
0:30 – EMPTY NET GOAL ARI – 1-4. Leslie was in a tough spot, one-on-one with an ARI forward near the LA blue line. He tried to spin away but lost the puck. Empty net goal; game.
0:00 – Game over.

SECOND PERIOD
20:00 – And we’re off…
19:35 – Big hit in the corner by Derek Forbort.
16:50 – Good one-on-one defending in the defensive zone by Alex Lintuniemi.
15:49 – Impressive scrap between Ryan Horvat and Dyson Stevenson. Both guys landed some blows; Horvat wrestled Stevenson to the ice. The crowd howled despite the takedown.
13:10 – Arizona goal waved off. Whistle had blown before the puck was poked in. A fortunate whistle, that. Good stops from in tight by Bartosak.
13:00 – Another save by Bartosak. Most of the action has been in the Kings’ end this period.
11:45 – After a good shift by Sabourin, Shore and Mersch, Arizona applied pressure. Bartosak denied Dan O’Donoghue from a tight angle.
11:30 – PENALTY LAK. Zachary Leslie sits.
11:00 – Good Bartosak save on a point shot with traffic in front.
10:58 – PENALTY LAK. Auger off. 5-on-3 for 1:28 for Arizona.
10:40 – Good stick by Nick Shore to poke the puck out of the zone on an attempted pass during a 5-on-3.
10:12 – Another Bartosak save with pressure in close. He’s having a fine period.
9:55 – Great job by Alex Lintuniemi to deny a 5-on-3 zone entry. Good singular effort. Knocked the puck back into the neutral zone.
9:22 – Back to 5-on-4. A good kill thus far by LA. 24 seconds remain on Auger’s minor.
8:50 – Kings kill off the 5-on-3. Max Domi was flying towards the end of his shift.
6:00 – Zachary Leslie denied a one-on-one scoring opportunity with a decent hit, separating body from puck. At the other end of the ice, he fired a one-timer towards Langhamer that ended with a blocker save. Really nice shift.
3:00 – Huge Justin Auger hit on Joel Hanley. Hanley sent flying. Huge hit.
2:40 – Brandon Maxwell, who entered the game midway through the period, took a heavy hit on hard path to the net by an Arizona forward. No penalty called.
0:02 – Auger fires wide from close range shortly before the horn. He’s making a case for the best forward tonight.
0:00 – Period over

FIRST PERIOD
19:50 – Puck kicks back to Forbort at the left point; his shot is kicked aside by Langhamer.
19:10 – PENALTY LAK. Sabourin off for roughing. ARI to the power play…
19:00 – There’s no PA announcer, so we’re going a bit blind here.
17:50 – Dysin Mayo hits the inside of the post for ARI on a four-on-two.
17:10 – POWER PLAY GOAL ARI – 0-1. Henrik Samuelsson backhands a loose puck past Bartosak.
16:10 – Zac Leslie from the right of the slot wrists a laser at net that gets stopped by Langhamer
16:00 – Good pressure by LAK, but no dice.
14:30 – Shots on goal are apparently not being tallied.
14:10 – GOAL LAK – 1-1. Roland McKeown backhands a bouncing puck up high past Langhamer after some Kings pressure.
13:00 – Zykov denied from close range by a lunging Langhamer. Lunging Langhamer = Indie band? Jamband? Ska band?
12:09 – GOAL ARI – 1-2. Brendan Perlini scores on a breakaway with a wristshot. Crowd howls.
10:30 – Maxwell in net for the Kings. Bartosak not on the bench. Thought up here is that it could be an equipment issue.
6:30 – Raddysh stood up a Coyotes forward at the ARI blue line with a nice hit. It forced the puck out of play, LAK won the ensuing draw.
6:00 – Great LAK chance. Dowd found Auger alone in the slot. Wristshot turned aside by Langhamer.
3:40 – Bartosak back in. That’s a perfect 1.000 save percentage for Brandon Maxwell, who spent last year with Rogle BK of HockeyAllsvenskan in Sweden.
2:20 – PENALTY ARI. Guy Leboeuf sent off for the Coyotes, so the Kings get their first power play look.
0:20 – Coyotes kill off the power play, though the Kings had some looks. Several late point shots from Alex Lintuniemi.
0:00 – Period over

Expect the Kings to open with these lines:

Mersch – Shore – Sabourin
Auger – Dowd – Zykov
Mistele – Amadio – Watson
Horvat – McGlynn – Burke

Forbort – McKeown
Leslie – Raddysh
Lintuniemi – Ebert

Bartosak
